One of the coolest things I have built so far would have to be my 4x4x4 led cube. I started off small and built a 3x3x3 cube it was cool but I knew I needed to go bigger.
My cube was custom... built with love and frusteration. At 16 leds per level and alot of tight soldering I can attest to walking away numerous times.
Straight up though since i've built it I havent turned it off.
The first couple of cubes I built I connected it.straight to an arduino which is really neat. By doing that you easy reprogram the animation of the cube. There is a program that you can use that makes it super simple to design your own. Google LCCG generator.
